YOUTH
AFSD™ blends dance movements & cultures from Africa, promoting cultural connections and nothing better than sharing all of that with the future generations. Classes focus on proper body alignment, improvisation, and rhythms to enhance technique, expression, and musicality. Open to teenagers interested in dance and cultural education.
ADULT
The Adult Dance Program spans four phases: Beginning, Beginning-Intermediate, Intermediate-Advanced, and Advanced. Graduates can become teachers, performers, or workshop leaders. The program develops skills like posture, technique, expression, muscle control, isolation, spatial awareness, combinations, musicality, rhythm, and cultural understanding. Open to all who enjoy dancing, having fun, and learning new skills.
SENIOR
AFSDᵀᴹ fosters connections across the continent's diverse cultures. Classes teach movement fundamentals with cultural significance, emphasizing proper body alignment and safety. Seniors can participate seated or standing, with the option to incorporate props and rhythms from various African countries to stimulate cognition. Open to seniors interested in learning dance with cultural education.
